BIOGRAPHY
Rubén Gallardo was born in Mallorca in 1992. From the age of four, he began exploring music in a self-taught way, particularly the piano and drums, driven by natural curiosity and guided by his father, a musician and singer who became his first artistic and formative reference.
His formal training began at the Conservatory of Felanitx, where he studied drums and percussion, standing out for his discipline, rhythmic sensitivity, and creative commitment. At the same time, he continued expanding his knowledge independently, incorporating new instruments and developing a personal language rooted in the balance between technique, intuition, and sonic exploration.
After completing his studies in music production, he made his film debut in 2016 with Zerø, a score that earned him the award for Best Soundtrack at the Films InFest International Festival. That project marked the beginning of a decisive stage in his career and solidified his vocation for music for visual media.
From that moment on, Rubén focused his trajectory on film composition, developing a sonic identity that balances the intimacy of the piano with the breadth of the symphony orchestra and contemporary textures. His music does not merely accompany the image; it supports and drives it, becoming an essential part of the audiovisual narrative.
Among his most notable works are La Leyenda de Oriol, Amy, and Omedetō, projects that strengthened his reputation for emotional depth and his ability to craft solid and expressive musical narratives. His work on Mirror Stacy marked another milestone in his career, receiving an award at the New York City International Films InFest Festival, further reinforcing his international projection within the audiovisual industry.
With an expanding career, he has collaborated with filmmakers and producers from different countries, participating in cinematic and audiovisual projects of global reach. His growing catalogue reflects a versatile command of multiple genres and sonic languages, as well as an open and constantly evolving artistic vision. Each new score confirms his commitment to technical excellence and the pursuit of a distinctive sonic identity.
