Another year comes to an end and, as this first decade of my journey closes, both my team and I want to share a message of deep gratitude. Thank you to everyone who has been part and continues to be part of this creative universe that grows and transforms with every project, every note and every shared moment.

· A Year of New Film Scores ·

This year has been especially fruitful in the audiovisual field for Rubén, who has expanded his catalogue with three new soundtracks that reflect the maturity, versatility and emotional depth of his musical language. Each one explores a different universe, yet they all share the same essence: the ability to transform images into pure emotion.

Breaking Character dives into the duality between public identity and inner truth. Rubén builds a score that breathes tension, fragility and revelation, combining intimate textures with dramatic bursts that accompany the breaking of the character and the birth of authenticity.

Ídolo explores the brilliance and shadow behind admiration. Here, the music moves between the grand and the vulnerable, between the elevated figure and the human being beneath. Rubén creates a soundscape filled with magnetism, mystery and an almost ritual sensitivity, revealing what it means to be observed, desired and, at times, consumed by the gaze of others.

Reminiscencia is the most introspective of the three: a work that navigates memory, echoes of the past and the traces that remain. With a delicate and atmospheric palette, Rubén composes a score that seems to suspend time, inviting the viewer to walk through memories, silences and emotions that return like soft yet inevitable waves.

These three works consolidate a year of creative expansion, where Rubén demonstrates not only his technical mastery but also his ability to narrate, move and build worlds through music.

This year also saw the premiere of two soundtracks that further highlight Rubén’s versatility and narrative sensitivity in the audiovisual world.

Mirror Stacy ventures into a darker, more psychological territory. With a sound palette full of tension, unsettling textures and a precise narrative pulse, Rubén constructs a universe where identity fractures and reality distorts. Internationally awarded, it reaffirms his ability to transform images into pure emotion.

Omedetō is a luminous and emotional work, built from delicacy and intimate celebration. Here, Rubén explores a warmer and more intimate musical language, where melody becomes an embrace and every harmony breathes gratitude, tenderness and hope. It is a score that celebrates the small everyday miracles and the beauty of being human.

· LIVE PERFORMANCES ·

One of the most special moments of the year arrived with the Lion King concert performed by Uma at the Auditorium of Palma. It was an evening filled with emotion, talent and an energy that filled the hall from the very first bar. The music iconic and universal found in Rubén not only a performer, but a creator capable of bringing an authentic and deeply organic dimension to the project.

Rubén composed, arranged and performed all the ethnic percussion parts, as well as drums and guitars, incorporating instruments and sonorities brought directly from Africa to preserve the true essence of the original sound world. His work in the recordings added texture, truth and an ancestral pulse that elevated the production closer to the spirit of the original work.

For Rubén, this concert was not only a personal milestone but also an artistic challenge: to convey the strength, emotion and grandeur of Hans Zimmer’s music, and for a moment, to feel what it means to carry that “responsibility,” to uphold that legacy and make it vibrate before an audience.

El Somni d'en Walt

Among the most meaningful moments of the year, Somni d’en Walt holds a special place. Not only because of the magnitude of the project —more than 70 musicians, a dedicated artistic and technical team, and the unmistakable magic of the Disney universe— but because it marked Rubén Gallardo’s return to the stage after years focused on composition, musical direction and the creation of new sound worlds.

From the very first rehearsals with the Banda Municipal de Marratxí, Somni d’en Walt stopped being an idea on paper and became a real, palpable energy in every chord and every gesture of complicity among musicians. Rubén was present throughout the entire process: shaping every detail of his arrangements, supporting the team in building each suite, and joining as a soloist to bring key moments of the concert to life.

The project required meticulous preparation: meetings, technical decisions, planning, recordings and a collective effort that transformed an idea into a show full of emotion. For Rubén, returning to the stage in this context was much more than a performance; it was a reconnection with his essence, with live music, with the audience and with the magic that only happens when music becomes present, alive and shared.

After years focused on composition, production and creation from behind the scenes, this project marked his definitive return to the stage. Feeling the audience’s breath, the orchestra’s pulse and the living energy of performance rekindled an essential part of his artistic identity. It was a reunion with the stage, with his own voice and with the emotion that only arises when music stops being a silent craft and becomes a shared act once again. That moment, that return, opened a new chapter: more conscious, more mature and more connected to what has always driven him.

I close this year with a very special feeling: the feeling of having reconnected with myself. It has been a year of change, of important decisions and of growth that, although not always easy, has brought me exactly where I needed to be.

I want to thank everyone who has been by my side on this journey. Those who supported my projects, those who believed in me even when I doubted, and those who have been part of this transformative stage. Every gesture, every word and every presence has meant more than I can express.

The coming year arrives full of new film scores, recordings, concerts and projects already taking shape. And among everything that’s coming, there is something very special that I have been building quietly for a long time. A project that represents a deep part of me and that will soon come to light. I cannot say more yet, but I can say this: it is important. Very important.

I enter the new year with excitement, renewed strength and the certainty that the best is yet to come.
