The original soundtrack of Ídolo is Rubén Gallardo’s latest work, a project that strengthens the close professional relationship with director Fernando Pardo.

In this new work, the music is not limited to accompanying the narrative but gradually becomes integrated into the emotional core of the story itself. Ídolo revolves around a relationship marked by psychological tension following a trial, in which one of the characters develops a growing obsession with the other. From this starting point, the soundtrack is built as a sonic reflection of that mental state.

The musical approach evolves alongside the character, shifting from a more atmospheric and restrained presence toward an increasingly dense, dark, and immersive language. The orchestral texture, recurring motifs, and use of sonic space all contribute to creating a constant sense of unease that draws the viewer into the protagonist’s emotional spiral.
Far from being a mere supporting element, the music becomes an active part of the obsession that defines the story. It turns into a narrative agent that not only underscores what happens on screen, but also amplifies and transforms it, blurring the boundary between accompaniment and protagonism.

The new soundtrack is positioned as an essential component in shaping the project’s emotional universe, reinforcing the work’s identity and adding an additional dimension to its dramatic interpretation.
