After its exciting debut during the August 2023 festivities, the new version of the Campos Anthem, reimagined by Mallorcan composer and producer Rubén Gallardo, will be officially released this Friday, January 9, coinciding with the patron saint celebrations of Campos. The release comes after months of technical and artistic work to prepare the piece in its final form.

The piece was commissioned by the Campos City Council to mark the 30th anniversary of the passing of Mossèn Bartomeu Ballester, the author of the original anthem. Gallardo took on the challenge of transforming the score, originally written for a wind band, into a symphonic version with a more emotional, contemporary, and cinematic approach. To achieve this, he researched the town’s history, cultural identity, and the context in which the anthem was created, aiming to craft a musical interpretation that would resonate with the community’s collective memory.
The first public performance took place on August 5, during the festival’s opening speech, featuring Inès Mas as the lead vocalist. The audience’s reaction was immediate: emotion, applause, and a shared sense of pride that confirmed the anthem’s enduring relevance and the power of this new version.
Now, with the official release just around the corner, the Campos Anthem is set to reach the public in its final version, available from January 9. The release will allow residents, organizations, and music lovers to experience this reinterpretation, which combines respect for tradition with contemporary sensitivity.
