AMY: The Original Soundtrack Arrives This Thursday
This Thursday marks the release of the Original Soundtrack of AMY, the new musical score composed by Rubén Gallardo for the film directed by Ismael Luna. After six months of work, the soundtrack is now being released as an independent project, conceived to allow listeners to experience the emotional and psychological evolution of the story without the need for the visuals. As Rubén explains, “the music had to tell, by itself, the evolution of the relationship between Alan and Amy: a connection that begins with fascination, but soon transforms into anger, fear, and obsession.”
The sonic identity of AMY is built around a hybrid blend of symphonic orchestra, piano, guitars, electric bass, and vintage 1980s synthesizers such as the Juno-106, D-50, and DX7. These instruments provide the dark, repetitive, and tense character that defines the film, while the sub-bass frequencies and spatial sound design create a physical experience that grows alongside the narrative. “Sub-bass frequencies can be physically felt, creating a sense of depth, threat, and pressure.”
To celebrate the release, Rubén Gallardo has published a special video in which he introduces the project and offers a preview of the album’s sonic atmosphere. This content will form part of the official release campaign and will accompany the soundtrack’s arrival on all major digital platforms.
In addition, this Thursday will also see the launch of a page dedicated entirely to “How the Original Soundtrack Was Made,” offering an in-depth look at the creative process, aesthetic references, the construction of the different layers, the use of vintage synthesizers, the musical narrative, and the secrets behind each texture.
This section will provide an opportunity to explore the sonic universe of AMY in greater depth and discover how the music was conceived as another character within the story. “The intention was to take the experience one step further and create an independent listening experience in which the music could fully develop its spatial and emotional potential.”
The AMY Original Soundtrack will be available this Thursday on all major digital platforms. With its release, the project opens a new door for audiences to experience the story from within, just as it was conceived: through sound, tension, and the emotional evolution that defines the world of AMY.
