We are pleased to announce that Ruben has been commissioned to sign the soundtrack for “Key Lime Pie”, a funny comedy that marks the first musical project in the United States, specifically in New York City. This soundtrack represents not only a new job, but a significant career leap into the American market, in one of the most iconic and culturally rich cities in the world.

Key Lime Pie follows the story of Sergio, a Hispanic worker who is wrongfully accused of stealing a watch and has a limited amount of time to find it before his client finishes his slice of key lime pie. What follows is a comical and frantic search through the diner, where Sergio encounters a series of quirky characters. The music, with an orchestration full of strings and winds, accompanies this journey, enhancing the light and comic tone of the film.

“The creative process behind this soundtrack was an experience full of surprises. At the beginning, it was conceived with a Latin musical style, taking advantage of rhythms and instruments characteristic of that culture.
However, moving forward, I felt that it was not what the film needed to reflect its comedic essence. Eventually, the score took a 360-degree turn, evolving into a full symphonic orchestration. Now, the melodies are playfully interwoven, supporting the humorous tone and accompanying the characters in their madcap quest for the clock.”
“Key Lime Pie” has been produced by Sònia Victoria with the production company LightHouse Ladies, whose script and direction weight falls on Allen Delgado, with whom it has been a privilege to work on this exciting project.

“This is an important step in my career and a window into the U.S. film market, where I hope to continue creating music that connects with international audiences.”
This soundtrack not only accompanies Sergio's story, but also symbolizes the composer's own artistic journey towards a new professional horizon.
