Omedeto's resounding success! Sold out for the premiere.

The film Omedeto, directed by Miguel Ángel Cardona, continues to generate excitement ahead of its grand premiere. Yesterday, IB3, the public television network of the Balearic Islands, featured this audiovisual work during its nightly news program. The premiere is set for Saturday, November 23, at 8:40 PM, with all tickets already sold out. Additionally, the film’s team will be present to share this special moment with the audience.

A Journey Between Mallorca and Japan

Omedetō is a deeply personal project that explores friendship and the transformative power of an unexpected journey. Directed and starred by Miguel Ángel Cardona, the story takes the audience on a visual and emotional journey through iconic locations in Japan, such as Shibuya, Tokyo Tower, and Osaka Castle.

Filmed with the collaboration of a close-knit group of friends, the production captured spontaneous moments that enhance the film’s authenticity. From the vibrant streets of Tokyo to the serene historical landscapes, Omedetō combines stunning visuals with an intimate and emotional narrative.

Music: The Heartbeat of the Story

A standout feature of Omedeto is its Original Soundtrack, composed by Rubén Gallardo. This work masterfully blends the grandeur of a classical orchestra with contemporary touches, focusing on piano and strings.

Gallardo describes the leitmotif as "the heart of the soundtrack," a theme that grows and evolves alongside the story, reflecting the characters' emotional journey. The compositions aim to convey a sense of incompleteness, mirroring the open-ended questions posed by the film.

“Back to the dramatic genre has been a wonderful experience,” Gallardo shares. “This project allowed me to rediscover my passion for crafting compositions that tell profound stories. From the very beginning, I knew the music had to go beyond simple accompaniment—something that builds layer by layer, leading to that final moment where all the gears click into place, answering the questions raised throughout the story.”

The creative process was as special as it was challenging. Each piece is imbued with sensitivity, aiming to connect directly with the audience while adding layers of meaning to Omedetō’s story.

“I worked closely with Miguel Ángel, who from the start placed his trust in me and supported me every step of the way, ensuring each piece was unique. The main theme, built with great sensitivity, grows and changes alongside the characters, culminating in a profound dialogue between violin and piano, leaving a sense of reflection and incompletion,” he explains.

Gallardo also highlights that the soundtrack not only supports the main narrative but also embodies the essence of each city featured in the film. "Each city has its own essence, and that essence is conveyed through its musical themes."

“This soundtrack is one of the most special of my career. It allowed me to rediscover the power of music in telling profound stories. Omedetō has left an indelible mark on me as a composer,” Gallardo concludes.
