Today, the official poster for Omedeto, the short film directed by Miguel Ángel Cardona, has been unveiled. Thanks to certain images in the design, we can start to get an idea of this journey that connects Mallorca and Japan in a story that our composer has assured is "an emotional tale filled with nuances and feelings that happen in the blink of an eye."
With the poster, anticipation also grows for the Original Soundtrack created by Rubén Gallardo. The composition stands out for its fusion of classical orchestra and contemporary elements, with the piano and strings as the main focus. Through a central leitmotif that evolves with the narrative, the music accompanies the emotional journey of the characters.
Q: How was the Soundtrack for Omedeto constructed?
A: “Initially, I thought of something conventional, but after talking with Miguel Ángel (Cardona) and understanding his vision, I knew the music needed to be more intimate. The melody had to reflect a journey, so I used transitions and pauses that leave a sense of something unresolved, much like Óscar's own journey in the story.”
Q: What is the role of the leitmotif in the film?
A: “It is the heart of the Soundtrack. It started as a simple melody but grows with the story. In the final theme, the violins and cellos create an unfinished dialogue, representing the questions and answers of the protagonist. It is a deep connection to the narrative.”
Q: What has this project meant to you?
A: “Returning to compose in this dramatic genre for film has been very special, especially with such an emotional story. This project allowed me to remember how music has the power to tell deep stories, and Omedeto has proven that to me once again. Thanks to this and Miguel Ángel Cardona, I have created one of my most special works to date.”
The Soundtrack, a fundamental piece of Omedeto, is expected this year and promises to immerse the audience in an experience of emotions and reflection. From now on, Gallardo promises more surprises surrounding this project and the journey ahead.
