Rubén visits Radio Balear to share his journey as a film score composer, delving into his way of understanding music for cinema. During the conversation, he explains how his curiosity for instruments, and his drive to explore their possibilities, has become an essential tool for creating soundtracks with their own identity.
Gallardo looks back on his beginnings, shaped by early training in a musical family environment and by an autodidactic evolution that led him, from a very young age, to orchestral composition almost without realizing it. He also recalls his first experience in film, when in 2016 he took on the complete soundtrack for the feature film Zero, a project that initially required only a short piano melody but ultimately became his first full score for the big screen.
In the interview, the composer reveals that he has already created more than forty soundtracks for short and feature films, highlighting the importance of understanding the narrative role of music in each project. His approach combines sensitivity, technique, and a deep connection with the story it accompanies, establishing him as a rising figure in the world of film music.
