Last Wednesday, June 25, El Somni d’en Walt took another step forward on its path to the grand premiere, with a live television interview broadcast on the regional channel Fibwi TV. The chosen platform was the program +Directo, hosted by Joan Montse, which offered viewers an intimate and in-depth look at the creative process behind this unprecedented production within the Festes de Marratxí 2025.

Representing the project were Sandra Mayol, executive director of the concert, and Rubén Gallardo, composer and arranger — the musical soul of El Somni d’en Walt. The interview, lighthearted, engaging, and full of camaraderie, offered a glimpse into the artistic and human heart beating at the core of the production. It shed light on the six months of intense and meticulous work, rehearsals, and preparation that have made this tribute to Disney’s music possible.

Gallardo took the opportunity to highlight the dedication and professionalism of all the artists involved, advocating for the cultural sector and calling attention to the imbalances that often exist within the music industry.
“It’s important to highlight everything that lies behind it: training, commitment, countless hours of rehearsal… and yet, we’re often not recognized on the same level as other proposals with exorbitant budgets and little artistic foundation,” he stated during the interview.
Mayol, emphasized the magnitude of the challenge involved in bringing a project of this scale to life.
“Many times, both those close to us and those outside our circle don’t fully grasp the level of involvement, the time, and the financial investment that something like this requires. But when they see the scale the project reaches, they immediately understand the effort and sacrifice behind it".
n addition to sharing insights into the creative and technical process, both guests recounted anecdotes from the journey, the team’s enthusiasm, and their excitement to offer the audience a truly unique and moving experience. With over 70 musicians on stage, a meticulously crafted production, and a repertoire that stirs the emotional memory of multiple generations, El Somni d’en Walt is set to captivate audiences this Saturday, June 29 at 9:00 PM, in Plaça de Sant Marçal.
The interview is available on Fibwi TV’s digital platforms and has served as the perfect prelude to an event that promises to leave a lasting impression on the collective memory of Marratxí.
