Release of the Café Avec Papa Soundtrack

The original soundtrack of the film Café Avec Papa has been released today, marking a highly anticipated addition to Rubén’s musical catalog. Although the work was composed in 2022, its public debut had not taken place until now, as part of the composer’s initiative to release earlier works that had remained unpublished.
Café Avec Papa, directed by Gabriel Di Pastena and produced by Blue Fox Media, sensitively explores the relationship between a son and his father, who is living with dementia. The story unfolds during an apparently ordinary encounter, where the fragility of memory and family bonds intertwine in an intimate and emotional tone. Shot in Barcelona and in French, the short film has toured international festivals, standing out for its humanistic approach and restrained storytelling.
The music composed by Gallardo accompanies this emotional journey with a jazz-inspired language that evolves from initial warmth to a more revealing atmosphere. The soundtrack not only supports the narrative flow but also amplifies the vulnerability of the characters and the weight of what remains unsaid. In addition to composing, the musician also handled the post-production and sound editing through his production company, ArtdeSo.
The release of this soundtrack is part of a personal project by the composer: to publish works created in previous years that, due to production or scheduling reasons, had not been made available to the public. Through this initiative, Gallardo aims to open up his catalog and allow these pieces, previously reserved for festival screenings, to be freely heard.
With this release, Café Avec Papa adds a new album to his catalog, giving audiences the opportunity to immerse themselves in its sonic universe and the musical sensitivity that accompanies it.
