This Monday marks the official release of the Original Soundtrack of Omedeto, composed by musician and producer Rubén Gallardo. The piece, which accompanies the short film directed by Miguel Ángel Cardona, represents an intimate fusion between cinematic storytelling and sonic emotion, featuring a contemporary style that blends the grandeur of classical orchestra with the subtlety of piano and strings.

Inspired by an unexpected journey to Japan, Omedeto tells a story of friendship, transformation, and personal discovery. Filmed in iconic locations such as Shibuya, Tokyo Tower, and Osaka Castle, the film becomes a tribute to independent cinema and to the stories that emerge when least expected.
The soundtrack, composed of 12 pieces, revolves around a leitmotif that evolves alongside the storyline. Each musical piece is crafted to reflect the protagonist’s emotional journey, with transitions and pauses that evoke a sense of an unfinished voyage. The final theme, led by violins and cellos, creates a musical dialogue full of questions and answers, without a definitive conclusion
Rubén has described this project as “one of the most rewarding experiences of his career,” highlighting the deeply personal nature of the composition. “Writing this score has been incredibly enriching for me, especially with such an emotional story. Omedeto reminded me how music can tell profound stories.”
The Omedeto soundtrack is now available on digital platforms, and promises to immerse listeners in a sensory experience full of nuance, nostalgia, and beauty.
